Four-time GRAMMY nominee, pianist and composer Gerald Clayton celebrates the release of his new recording, Tributary Tales (April 21, Motéma Music). The album traces paths of myriad streams — personal, experiential, intangible — that flow into one another, creating a musical narrative greater than the sum of his individual compositions.
“…brilliant… a seamless, spiritual fusion of creativity and cohesion passed down to him from his father, bassist John Clayton and his reedist uncle, Jeff Clayton."- NY Observer
Clayton’s concert and recording creds include such luminaries as Diana Krall, Roy Hargrove, Dianne Reeves, Ambrose Akinmusire, Dayna Stephens, Kendrick Scott, John Scofield, Ben Williams, Terell Stafford & Dick Oatts, Michael Rodriguez, Terri Lyne Carrington, Avishai Cohen, Peter Bernstein and the Clayton Brothers Quintet.
